Assistant US Attorney
Alexander (Alex) Rossmiller was not a defendant, victim, or subject of investigation in the Jeffrey Epstein case. Rather, he served as a federal prosecutor who led prosecutions in the case. Rossmiller worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) for the Southern District of New York, primarily with the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. He was one of the lead prosecutors on the Epstein case, alongside AUSAs Maurene Comey and Alison Moe. Court records show Rossmiller was present at Epstein's initial appearance on July 8, 2019, filed motions in the case, and participated in proceedings including a status conference on August 27, 2019 regarding a nolle prosequi motion. After more than a decade as a federal prosecutor, Rossmiller joined Quinn Emanuel as of counsel in January 2025, where he now practices white-collar criminal defense and complex investigations.
