Blockstream co-founder who directly corresponded with Epstein
Austin Hill, Blockstream co-founder, had business and financial dealings with Jeffrey Epstein between 2014 and 2018. Hill first contacted Epstein in March 2014 at a TED conference in Vancouver, proposing blockchain finance opportunities. In April 2014, Hill visited Epstein's private island to seek funding for Blockstream. Epstein invested in Blockstream as a limited partner through Joi Ito's fund. Communication between the two became sporadic after Hill left Blockstream's executive role in 2015 but resumed in 2017 regarding cryptocurrency regulation, ending in 2018. Hill has issued a statement expressing regret for any association with Epstein and condemning his crimes.
