World Economic Forum CEO under investigation for Epstein dinners
Børge Brende, former president and CEO of the World Economic Forum, resigned from his position on February 26, 2026, following an independent investigation into his contacts with Jeffrey Epstein. The WEF launched the review after documents from the Epstein files revealed that Brende had attended three business dinners with Epstein in 2018 and 2019, and exchanged emails and text messages with him. The independent review concluded there were no additional concerns beyond what had been previously disclosed. Brende stated he was cooperating with the investigation and claimed he had only met Epstein in business settings and was unaware of Epstein's criminal background.
Borge Brende stepped down as president and CEO of the World Economic Forum following pressure and an internal review over his contacts with Jeffrey Epstein, including dinners and messages revealed in Epstein files.
