Attorney who represented dozens of Epstein victims
Bradley James Edwards is a prominent American attorney based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who has served as one of the most consequential legal advocates for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking operation. He is a founding partner of Edwards Henderson (formerly Edwards Pottinger), and has represented more than 200 Epstein survivors over the course of more than a decade of litigation. Edwards first challenged the secret non-prosecution agreement brokered in 2008 by then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, arguing it violated the federal Crime Victims' Rights Act by deliberately hiding the arrangement from the 36 identified underage victims. In February 2019, a federal judge ruled in his favor, finding that Acosta and other prosecutors had broken federal law. This litigation was widely credited with contributing to renewed public scrutiny of Epstein and ultimately to his 2019 federal arrest on sex trafficking charges. Edwards also represented Virginia Giuffre in a lawsuit against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, alleging she had been trafficked into sexual encounters with powerful individuals. He filed a defamation suit on behalf of Giuffre against Maxwell, which settled in 2017. When attorney Alan Dershowitz accused Edwards of ethical violations, Edwards countersued for defamation and the matter settled in 2016. In 2020, Edwards played a key role in establishing the Epstein Victims Compensation Fund, which ultimately distributed approximately $121 million to around 135 survivors. In 2023, Edwards, working alongside co-counsel at Boies Schiller Flexner and others, helped secure a $290 million settlement from JPMorgan Chase and a separate $75 million settlement from Deutsche Bank on behalf of Epstein survivors who alleged the banks had facilitated and profited from Epstein's trafficking operation. A federal judge granted final approval of the JPMorgan settlement in November 2023. Edwards has also been publicly active in the ongoing release of Epstein-related court documents, advocating for victim privacy protections. He has stated that victims were receiving constant calls after their names were exposed in document releases, and he worked with Judge Richard M. Berman and the DOJ to secure redaction protections for nearly 100 women. He is the author of "Relentless Pursuit: My Fight for the Victims of Jeffrey Epstein," published in 2020. Bradley Edwards is a legal advocate and context figure in the Epstein case. He has not been charged, arrested, or accused of any wrongdoing in connection with the case.
