Dalton School headmaster who hired young Epstein as a teacher
Donald Barr (1921-2004) was an American educator and writer who served as headmaster of the Dalton School in New York City from 1964 to 1974. He hired Jeffrey Epstein as a mathematics and physics teacher in September 1974, shortly after Barr's resignation at the end of the 1973-1974 school year. Epstein's position at Dalton became a critical stepping stone in his career, connecting him to elite Manhattan families and eventually leading to his hiring at Bear Stearns by Dalton parent Alan Greenberg. Barr is also noted for publishing the 1973 science fiction novel Space Relations, which depicted a dystopian planet with child sex slavery—a plot that has been observed to thematically anticipate Epstein's later crimes. Barr died in 2004, and no evidence indicates he was arrested, charged, convicted, or subject to criminal investigation related to the Epstein case.
Donald Barr was the headmaster of the Dalton School who hired the unqualified Jeffrey Epstein as a math and science teacher in 1974 and authored the 1973 novel Space Relations depicting child sex slavery, drawing scrutiny for parallels to Epstein's crimes.
