Academic and art world figure; appeared on Epstein flight logs
Eileen Guggenheim, former dean and current board chair of the New York Academy of Art, has been accused by survivor Maria Farmer of introducing her to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Farmer's 1995 MFA thesis show. Guggenheim has consistently and strongly denied these allegations, stating she never introduced Farmer to Epstein and has no recall of the claimed interactions. In 2007, Guggenheim was interviewed by the FBI regarding Epstein in connection with a federal investigation into sexual exploitation of minors. An independent legal investigation commissioned by the New York Academy of Art in 2020, overseen by the firm Walden Macht and Haran, concluded that critical aspects of Farmer's allegations against Guggenheim were untrue. The board subsequently issued a vote of full confidence in Guggenheim, asking her to remain in her position as board chair. Despite ongoing public controversy and a petition calling for her removal, Guggenheim has maintained her denials and the school's official investigation found her cleared of wrongdoing.
Eileen Guggenheim denied allegations of introducing Maria Farmer to Jeffrey Epstein or facilitating any connections to him, with a legal investigation in June 2020 concluding that critical aspects of the claims were untrue and affirming her position at the New York Academy of Art.
