ABC News anchor who attended post-conviction dinner at Epstein mansion
George Stephanopoulos, the ABC News anchor and former Clinton White House adviser, has documented connections to Jeffrey Epstein through flight records, Epstein's personal contact directory ("black book"), and a social dinner. Flight logs show Stephanopoulos flew on Epstein's private aircraft on two occasions in April and May 2000, including at least one flight shared with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Sarah Kellen. He was also listed in Epstein's black book with three phone numbers. In December 2010, after Epstein had already served his first prison sentence, Stephanopoulos attended a dinner hosted by Epstein at his Manhattan townhouse. The dinner was held in honor of Prince Andrew and was attended by several other prominent figures including Katie Couric, Woody Allen, Chelsea Handler, and Charlie Rose. According to sources close to Stephanopoulos, a publicist promoted the invitation as an opportunity to meet Prince Andrew rather than presenting it as Epstein's event. Stephanopoulos publicly addressed the dinner after Epstein's 2019 arrest, telling The New York Times: "That dinner was the first and last time I've seen him. I should have done more due diligence. It was a mistake to go." He faced additional criticism for initially reporting on Epstein's 2019 charges on ABC News without disclosing his own prior connection to Epstein. No charges, arrests, criminal investigations, or civil suits have been filed against Stephanopoulos in connection with the Epstein case. He has no reported role in Epstein's criminal network beyond these documented social connections. The connections place him in Epstein's social orbit but carry no indication of criminal conduct or complicity.
George Stephanopoulos had dinner with Jeffrey Epstein after his jail time and hosted discussions on ABC's This Week about Epstein-related topics including Trump and intelligence ties.
