Named on FBI co-conspirator list; unredacted by Congress (Feb 2026); identity disputed
Nicola Caputo is an Italian Socialist politician and former Member of European Parliament whose name appeared in redacted Epstein files. When Congressional representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie disclosed his name in February 2026, Caputo immediately and publicly denied any connection to Jeffrey Epstein or his associates. The U.S. Justice Department subsequently clarified that Caputo was among individuals who appeared on a list of 20 names used for an FBI photo lineup and had no actual involvement with Epstein. Caputo's inclusion in the files appears to be a case of mistaken identity or coincidental name-matching rather than any substantive association with Epstein's criminal activity.
Nicola Caputo, a former Member of the European Parliament from Italy, categorically denied ever having any type of contact with Jeffrey Epstein or his circle after being named by U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie in connection with Epstein files.
