Attorney at Boies Schiller representing Virginia Roberts
Peter Skinner is a prominent litigator and former federal prosecutor (SDNY, 2004–2015) who appears in the Epstein files in his professional capacity as an attorney representing Epstein victims at the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner. He is not a suspect, perpetrator, or victim in the Epstein case. On February 29, 2016, Skinner attended a meeting at SDNY headquarters (1 St. Andrew's Plaza) with a prosecutor named Kramer — the Southern District's coordinator for human trafficking and child exploitation initiatives — alongside fellow attorneys Stan Pottinger and Bradley Edwards, who represented Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre. Skinner's presence at the meeting was attributed in part to his prior relationships within SDNY as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney. The legal team presented the prosecution with evidence about Epstein's scheme and subsequently sent documents to the U.S. Attorney's office. SDNY ultimately declined to pursue the case in 2016. Skinner's Boies Schiller Flexner colleagues continued advocacy on behalf of victims and eventually secured nearly $400 million in settlements from JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank. In 2025, the firm also negotiated a $35 million settlement against Epstein's estate co-executors. Skinner himself later departed Boies Schiller and joined Morrison Foerster, where he was announced as a prominent former federal prosecutor. His mention in the Epstein files reflects his legal work representing victims and coordinating with federal authorities — not any personal involvement in wrongdoing.
