Princess Sofia of Sweden (née Sofia Hellqvist) was named in the DOJ's released Epstein documents and publicly addressed her past connection to Jeffrey Epstein on February 10, 2026. The Swedish Royal Court issued a statement confirming that "Princess Sofia recalls meeting Mr Epstein on a few occasions around 20 years ago, many years before the Princess became a member of the Royal Family," and that "the meetings in question took place in social settings, such as at a restaurant and a movie premiere." They further clarified that reports of Epstein assisting her with acting lessons or a U.S. visa were incorrect. In her own public statement, Sofia described Epstein's actions as "terrible crimes," expressed sympathy for his victims, and said: "Now that I have read about the horrific crimes he subjected young women to, I'm so grateful that I've had nothing to do with him since those few occasions in my 20s.
