Roger Schank was a prominent Northwestern University professor of computer science and artificial intelligence researcher who maintained extensive contact with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein from at least 2009 through at least 2011, as documented in over 1,500 mentions in DOJ-released Epstein Files. Email exchanges show Schank soliciting access to girls from Epstein, suggesting locations where young women could be found (CU Boulder), and helping Epstein protect his interests regarding sexual activity. Despite Epstein's 2008 conviction for procuring an underage girl for prostitution, Schank continued contact and public support. Schank died in January 2023 and was never charged, arrested, or convicted in connection with the Epstein case. The released correspondence implicates potential knowledge of Epstein's crimes and possible facilitation, but no criminal accountability determination has been established through available sources.
