Epstein survivor and author of 'Silenced No More'
Sarah Ransome is a publicly identified survivor of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's trafficking and abuse network. She was approximately 22 years old when she was recruited around 2006 through a woman named Natalya, who befriended her at a New York nightclub and introduced her to Epstein. Upon arriving at Epstein's private Caribbean island, Little Saint James, her documents were immediately confiscated. She was raped by Epstein repeatedly, sometimes multiple times daily, and Maxwell actively participated in the abuse, forcing her into rooms and psychologically manipulating her through what Ransome describes as calculated "trauma bonding." She was later housed in an apartment by Epstein while the assaults and threats continued. She eventually escaped to London in May 2007. In 2017, Ransome filed a civil lawsuit identified as "Jane Doe 43" against both Epstein and Maxwell, alleging sexual trafficking and abuse. The case was settled in 2018 under undisclosed terms. Ransome provided a formal victim impact statement at Ghislaine Maxwell's 2021 federal trial, which is preserved in the official court record by the U.S. Department of Justice. In her statement, she described the lasting psychological trauma she endured, including suicide attempts, alcoholism, nightmares, severe anxiety, and lasting difficulty maintaining relationships. She also attended the Maxwell trial in person, describing the experience as both therapeutic and retraumatizing. Ransome subsequently published a memoir titled "Silenced No More: Surviving My Journey to Hell and Back" in which she detailed her experiences at length. She has become a public advocate for survivors, speaking to media outlets including NPR, CBS News, and the Washington Post, and has emphasized that no aspect of her background justified the trafficking she experienced. She has stated that her pursuit of justice centers on accountability for Maxwell and recognition of what she and other survivors endured.
Ransome was trafficked and repeatedly sexually abused by Epstein and Maxwell at his Caribbean island before escaping and becoming a prominent survivor advocate.
