Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) was revealed through released Epstein files to have exchanged texts with Jeffrey Epstein during a February 27, 2019 congressional hearing in which Michael Cohen testified. The texts showed Epstein coaching Plaskett on questions to ask Cohen about the Trump Organization, and Plaskett appeared to follow his suggestions minutes later during her questioning — with Epstein texting 'Good work' shortly after. Text records also indicate Plaskett may have initiated contact with Epstein before the hearing. Additionally, a Plaskett associate (tax lawyer Erika Kellerhals) had in January 2018 emailed Epstein seeking his help to arrange a meeting between Plaskett and Sen. Chuck Schumer for hurricane disaster relief. Plaskett had also received $8,100 in Epstein campaign contributions across 2016–2018, which she later donated to women's organizations after his 2019 indictment. Republicans introduced a censure resolution and sought to remove her from the House Intelligence Committee, but the measure failed 209–214 on November 18–19, 2025, with three Republicans voting against their party. Plaskett denied any wrongdoing, stating the exchange showed 'no participation, no assistance, no involvement in any illegal activity' and characterized the censure effort as 'political theater.' No arrest, criminal charge, DOJ/FBI investigation, or formal legal proceeding against Plaskett has been reported.
