Norwegian diplomat; former UN Special Envoy
Terje Rød-Larsen, a Norwegian former diplomat and key architect of the 1993 Oslo Accords, is under investigation by Norwegian police for suspected corruption related to his extensive financial and professional ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Norwegian authorities are investigating Rød-Larsen for corruption charges, including aiding and abetting gross corruption, visa fraud for women in Epstein's orbit, and receipt of unexplained payments totaling at least $250,000 from Epstein in 2015. Rød-Larsen served as president of the International Peace Institute from 2005 to 2020 and resigned in October 2020 after revelations emerged that he had received a $130,000 personal loan from Epstein in 2013 and had secured donations to his think tank from Epstein's foundations. Documents released in January 2026 as part of the Epstein files indicate Epstein designated $5-10 million for Rød-Larsen's children in his will. Rød-Larsen is suspected of facilitating Epstein's network, helping him make connections to political and business figures, and arranging visas for young women associated with Epstein by writing false letters of recommendation claiming they possessed 'extraordinary abilities.' He is under investigation alongside his wife, Norwegian Ambassador Mona Juul.
Terje Rod-Larsen is under investigation by Norwegian authorities for alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein, including financial relationships, a personal loan, Epstein-arranged employment at his think tank, and Epstein's $10 million bequest to his children.
