Epstein's executive assistant for two decades; named co-conspirator with immunity; 92+ flights
Lesley Groff served as Jeffrey Epstein's executive assistant for approximately 18 years (2001-2019), managing his schedule, coordinating international travel, and organizing domestic affairs across multiple properties. Her name appears over 157,000 times in the unsealed Epstein files. In July 2019, three days after Epstein's arrest on sex trafficking charges, federal investigators identified Groff as a potential co-conspirator and discussed serving her a subpoena. An internal DOJ document from August 2019 explicitly listed her as a 'co-conspirator.' Court documents and witness testimony have alleged she facilitated abuse of underage girls by arranging travel for victims and handling logistics of Epstein's operations. However, prosecutors declined to bring criminal charges against her in 2021. Her attorney has stated she never knowingly booked travel for minors and had no knowledge of illegal activity. A 2026 congressional report noted that investigators were unable to formally offer her cooperation because Epstein paid her legal fees, creating a conflict of interest that hampered the investigation.
All civil lawsuits filed by Epstein accusers against Lesley Groff were voluntarily dismissed by plaintiffs with prejudice, meaning claims cannot be re-filed. The dismissals occurred following Ghislaine Maxwell's conviction.
Lesley Groff was named as a defendant in civil lawsuits filed by Epstein accusers. A December 2019 complaint by Jane Doe ('Anastasia Doe') alleged that Groff scheduled massage appointments for underage girls and participated in Epstein's trafficking of women.
Following Epstein's arrest on July 6, 2019, Lesley Groff was served a grand jury subpoena on or before July 9, 2019. An internal FBI email from July 9, 2019 confirmed that six of ten alleged co-conspirators had been served subpoenas, including one in Connecticut where Groff resided.
