Co-founder of Zagat; flew on Epstein's jet, post-conviction dinner contact
Tim Zagat, co-founder of the Zagat restaurant guide empire, had documented social contact with Jeffrey Epstein through elite New York and travel circles. Records show that Tim and Nina Zagat flew on Epstein's private jet in February 2002 to a TED conference in Monterey, California, alongside other prominent figures. Zagat's name also appears in Epstein's address book, and emails from Epstein's estate document invitations to upscale New York restaurant dinners — including a 2014 dinner at Ristorante Morini with Woody Allen among the guests — years after Epstein's 2008 Florida sex-offender conviction. A 2012 email chain also shows Epstein's assistant contacting Zagat's office to help arrange restaurant reservations in San Francisco. When contacted by The Daily Beast, Zagat declined to discuss the relationship, calling Epstein "radioactive" and offering only "No comment at all." He confirmed that Epstein was never an investor in his restaurant guidebook company. There is no public evidence that Tim Zagat was involved in Epstein's sex-trafficking crimes, and he has not been charged, investigated, or faced any legal accountability in connection with the Epstein case. His appearance in Epstein's records reflects social proximity within elite circles, not documented criminal complicity.
