Convicted sex trafficker; Epstein's closest associate and primary recruiter; serving 20 years
Ghislaine Maxwell, British socialite and Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirator, was convicted in December 2021 of five counts including conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors to participate in illegal sex acts, transporting a minor to participate in illegal sex acts, sex trafficking conspiracy, and sex trafficking of a minor. She was sentenced on June 28, 2022, to 20 years in prison. The judge stated that Maxwell 'directly and repeatedly and over the course of many years participated in a horrific scheme to entice, transport and traffic underage girls, some as young as 14, for sexual abuse by and with Jeffrey Epstein.' Her conviction and sentence were upheld by the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in September 2024, and the Supreme Court declined to hear her appeal in October 2025.
